Bixby Auctioneers & Appraisers, LLC  

Greg & Janet Bixby are a husband and wife team of Bixby Auctioneers & Appraisers, LLC located in Swanzey, New Hampshire .  They have been in the antiques and collectibles market since the mid 1990’s, as collectors, dealers, auctioneers, appraisers and are certified as expert witnesses.  Our services include total management of estate liquidations, personal and real estate; appraisal of antiques and collectibles for insurance value, auction value, probate, and divorce settlements.  We are USPAP certified in personal property appraisals, which the IRS now recognizes for estate settlements.  We are also available as expert witness in the court system and are buyer representatives.  Both are members and have taken courses through the National Auctioneers Association and have the designation of GPPA, Graduate Personal Property Appraiser, which abide by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice and are Expert Witness in the Court System. To maintain our designation of GPPA, National Auctioneers Association requires a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education courses every three years.  Greg and Janet are both members of the New Hampshire Auctioneers Association since 2000. Greg has worked at Kingsbury Corporation as a Senior Designer for more than 36 years and the current historian and former curator of the Wilkins and Kingsbury toy collection and a  book on antique toys is near completion.  Janet has worked in the Banking and Insurance Industry for more than 25 years in the accounting profession. An honors graduate of Franklin Pierce College with a Bachelor of Science double major in management and finance,  Janet is a past President of the New Hampshire Auctioneers Association and also has held positions as Director, Vice President, and President.  Under Janet’s leadership, the membership of the association has grown 16% and is committed to providing educational opportunities at their spring and fall meetings.  Active in community affairs, Greg and Janet are members of and have volunteered for many years at the Cheshire County Historical Society located in Keene, New Hampshire at their annual auction fund raiser and at appraisal days.  Both are also members of the Swanzey Historical Society located in West Swanzey, New Hampshire and have assisted them as consultants and buyer representatives.  Other volunteer activities include the Ashland Toy Museum annual appraisal day located in Ashland, New Hampshire, Nashua Center for the Multiply Handicapped annual benefit fund raiser located in Nashua, New Hampshire, and the Cheshire Quilter's Guild in Keene, New Hampshire.
